Nov. 22, 1963 - President Kennedy has been seriously wounded by a gunshot in Dallas, Texas — perhaps fatally. Texas Governor John B. Connally Jr. was also seriously wounded. Early reports that Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson was also shot were false, as was a separate rumor that Mr. Johnson had suffered another heart attack. Vice President Johnson is now at Parkland Memorial Hospital, where President Kennedy is being treated in Trauma Room One. The President was logged into the hospital register at 12:38 p.m. local time as “No. 24740, Kennedy, John F.” Mr. Kennedy’s condition is said to be very poor. Dallas police believe the shots were fired from the Texas School Book Depository in Dealey Plaza.
