Sept. 3, 1961 - President Kennedy's father (right) flew home from Paris today to celebrate his 73rd birthday with his family. Joseph P. Kennedy has been vacationing on the French Riviera. The elder Kennedy, former U.S. Ambassador to Britain, flew from Paris to Boston, then boarded the family's private plane, the Caroline, for the flight to Barnstable Airport, near Hyannis Port. The former Ambassador's birthday is Wednesday. The President brought with him from Washington a big box of family gifts, and the Kennedys are expected to have a birthday party tomorrow.
