Mar. 1, 1963 - A record total of 957 major league baseball games will be telecast this season, with the 20 teams receiving about $14 million for the broadcast and television rights. Additionally, NBC and CBS will pay the 12 teams which appear on their weekend telecasts just over $1 million, while the World Series and All-Star games are a $4.25 million package. The New York Mets and World Champion Yankees will have the most regular season games on television. The Mets will show 76 at home, 52 on the road, and 3 exhibitions. The Yankees will screen 81 home, 46 away, and 5 exhibitions. Milwaukee will have five home games on television for the first time, while five National League teams and the Los Angeles Angels of the American League will have no home games on television. The NL teams are Houston, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, San Francisco, and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
