🚨Report of President’s Death Not Officially Confirmed

🚨Nov. 22, 1963 - Eddie Barker, news director of CBS’s Dallas affiliate KRLD, reported the following at 1:16 p.m. Central Standard Time: “The word we have is that President John F. Kennedy is dead. This we do not know for a fact. The word we have is from a doctor on the staff of Parkland Hospital who says that it is true. He was in tears when he told me just a moment ago. This is still not officially confirmed, but the source would normally be a good one.” Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson has departed Parkland Memorial Hospital in an unmarked police car and is headed to Love Field, Dallas’s airport. (Pictured below is the Vice President’s wife Lady Bird leaving Parkland.)
