July 30, 1961 - For the next 24 hours, major league baseball's torrid pennant races and the Maris-Mantle home run duel move into suspended animation. For tomorrow in Fenway Park, the top performers of the two leagues will engage in the second all-star game of 1961. As was the case a year ago, the public at large is finding a second all-star attraction something of an anti-climax, like playing a second World Series in Brazil. In fact, this could be the last of the two-a-year classics. Boston fans, of course, are steamed up about this one. That is understandable. Boston fans haven't much else to get excited about, with their Red Sox 20 games behind the first-place #Yankees.
