Dec. 26, 1962 - Sport Magazine named Maury Wills (left) of the Los Angeles Dodgers Man of the Year in Sports today for stealing 104 bases during the major league baseball season. Other athletes honored in their particular fields included: Jim Taylor of Green Bay, pro football; Wilt Chamberlain of San Francisco, pro basketball; Bobby Hull of Chicago, pro hockey; Dick Tiger, boxing; Arnold Palmer, golf; Rod Laver, tennis.
