Starr and Hornung lead Packers to Romp over Rams, 41-10

Dec. 2, 1962 - Paul Hornung (right), back in action today, teamed with Bart Starr (left) and Jim Taylor to lead the Green Bay Packers to a 41-10 victory over the Los Angeles Rams. Hornung, who had made only one brief appearance in the last 7 weeks, scored the Packers’ first touchdown on a 30-yard pass from Starr and later took a 35-yard pass from Starr to set up Green Bay’s second score. Hornung also gained 27 yards in 9 carries. He left the game limping in the third quarter but was believed to be just tired. Taylor scored 2 touchdowns and ran his NFL-leading total to 102 points. Starr also passed to Ron Kramer for 4 yards and a touchdown, and Jerry Kramer kicked field goals of 35 and 37 yards. The Packers now need one victory in two games on the West Coast against the Rams and San Francisco to clinch at least a tie for their third successive Western Conference crown.
