Nov. 12, 1962 - The Pittsburgh Steelers scored 2 touchdowns within 3 minutes in the last period and drove on to a 26-17 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals yesterday. John Henry Johnson (pictured), who gained 138 yards in 25 attempts for the Steelers, cracked over from the 5-yard line 2 minutes 41 seconds after Dick Hoak scored from 5 yards out as the fourth period opened. Johnson’s score put the Steelers in front, 23-17. With less than two minutes left in the game, Johnson’s 40-yard run set up Lou Michael’s second field goal, from 8 yards out. His other was for 27 yards. Bobby Layne of the Steelers threw his 194th touchdown pass with 46 seconds left in the first half. It covered nine yards to Preston Carpenter.
