Topeka Teacher Honored by President Kennedy

May 14, 1962 - Mrs. Marjorie L. French of Topeka, Kan., was honored by President Kennedy today as teacher of the year. Mrs. French, a teacher for 23 years, is supervisor of the Mathematics Department for grades 7 through 12 in the Topeka schools. Her husband, Freeman, teaches music. She received a gold lapel pin and a certificate from President Kennedy in the White House flower garden “in recognition of outstanding achievement as a teacher."
