Dec. 25, 1962 - Something a little different in television formats is planned for the fall of 1963 by ABC. A 90-minute program called “Arrest and Trial” will consist of two separate shows, each running 45 minutes. The first program, bearing the subtitle of “Arrest,” will deal with the efforts of a metropolitan police department to track down a criminal suspect. After the fugitive is caught, the second portion, “Trial,” will concern itself with his prosecution. Ben Gazzara will star as the detective in the “Arrest” segment of the package. Chuck Connors, current star of “The Rifleman,” will have the part of the district attorney in the “Trial” segment. To link the two programs together there will be a guest star common to both stories.
