TV: Bellamy to Replace Wendell Corey on NBC’s “The Eleventh Hour”

Apr. 16, 1963 - Ralph Bellamy (pictured) will replace Wendell Corey in the lead role of a psychiatrist on NBC-TV’s “The Eleventh Hour.” A spokesman for MGM Television, producer of the series, said it had granted Mr. Corey a release at his own request. MGM TV said the actor wanted “to devote himself to outside activities and to feature film production and acting.” “The Eleventh Hour,” which made its debut last fall, is televised on Wednesdays from 10 to 11 p.m. and will continue at the same time next season. Mr. Corey will continue to appear on the series for the remainder of this season. The filming of shows for next season, on which Mr. Bellamy will be the star, will begin Monday in Hollywood.
