TV: Bing Crosby and Mary Martin To Present Color Holiday Special on ABC-TV

Dec. 23, 1962 - Tomorrow night on Christmas Eve, Bing Crosby (pictured right in 1942) and Mary Martin (left) will be seen together for the first time since they made the movie “Rhythm on the River” 22 years ago. The two performers will present a holiday special in color from 9 to 10 p.m. over ABC-TV. Besides many Christmas songs, they will sing as a duet “Wait Till the Sun Shines Nellie,” a hit from their movie “Birth of the Blues,” made in 1941. Bing will sing “White Christmas,” André Previn will play “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen,” and Miss Martin will sing “Some Children See Him.” Bing’s annual Christmas sing on the radio at 7:10 p.m. will feature Kathy Grant Crosby, Rosemary Clooney, the Boys’ Town Choir, Johnny Mercer, and the Norman Luboff choir.
