TV: Gene Barry Signed for CBS Special

Mar. 2, 1962 - Gene Barry, better known to TV viewers as Bat Masterson, a Western superman, will play the part of an “inquiring sportswriter” in a television drama. Mr. Barry has been signed to star in “The Roman Kid,” a story by Paul Gallico, author of “Lou Gehrig: Pride of the Yankees” (1941). It will be shown on CBS-TV’s “General Electric Theatre” Sunday, May 6, at 9 p.m.
