June 28, 1962 - More television specials that will tell stories from the Bible through great works of art are being planned by NBC. Donald B. Hyatt, NBC’s director of special projects, said today that the incentive to do further programs of this sort came from the success of two highly acclaimed shows in past seasons, “The Coming of Christ” and “He is Risen.” “We are interested particularly in the Old Testament for the next show,” he said. The previous shows used masterpieces from museum and other collections, photographed in color. Mr. Hyatt arranged them in sequences. Filmed with a camera technique that presented them as almost moving pictures, they told a story along with a voice narration. “The Bible is a rich field for art,” Mr. Hyatt said. “Religious art has been the most popular art through the ages, and you don’t exhaust the Bible.”
