July 31, 1963 - David Levy, former vice president of programs for NBC, will produce a television pilot film based on cartoon characters created by Charles Addams. The tentative title of the proposed comedy series is “Addams and Evil.” Mr. Levy said the cast of actors in the show “will bear a strong physical resemblance to Addams’s cartoon characters.” There are seven major characters, all members of one family. Mr. Levy identified them as Morticia, the wife; Gomez, the husband; Wednesday, the daughter; Pugsley, the son; Granny Frump, Uncle Fester, and Lurch, the butler. Mr. Levy added that “Addams and Evil” will avoid “macabre humor.”
