TV: “Sophia Loren in Rome”

Mar. 26, 1964 - “Sophia Loren in Rome,” a one-hour show in which the Italian actress conducts a tour of the capital city, will be televised in color by ABC, probably in November. Filming of the show will begin in May.

Norman Baer, co-producer, said it would be directed by Sheldon Reynolds. Mr. Reynolds and Basilio Franchina, one of the authors of the motion picture, “The Fall of the Roman Empire,” which opens today and in which Miss Loren stars, will write the script. Miss Loren will be paid about $100,000 for the program.

It will be the second production for Mr. Baer and Phil D’Antoni, who heads Television Productions of America. Last year, the two men produced “Elizabeth Taylor in London.”
