Nov. 27, 1963 - Arnold Perl, former executive producer of “East Side/West Side,” has been named producer of “The Reporter,” a new one-hour drama series being developed by CBS-TV. The pilot show was written by Jerome Weidman, who also will write other scripts for the series. Danny Taylor (Harry Guardino, pictured) is an ambitious news hound for the daily New York Globe with a knack for getting the tough stories. Lou Sheldon (Gary Merrill) is his boss who tries to keep Danny out of trouble. Artie (George O’Hanlon) is a gregarious ever-present taxi driver. Filming of the pilot will begin in New York Monday.
