June 14, 1962 - The Minnesota Twins broke a ninth-inning tie on a single by Len Green today and defeated the Los Angeles Angels, 5-4. Bo Belinsky (pictured after the game) made his sixth unsuccessful bid for his seventh victory, and his pitching was almost as wild as his recent night life. Belinsky had been fined $250 for staying out until 5 a.m. yesterday with another Angel pitcher, Dean Chance. Today, Bo walked 8 in 5 innings and left the game trailing, 3-2. The victory put the Twins only 3 points behind the league-leading New York Yankees.
