Twins Top Red Sox as Killebrew Excels

July 15, 1962 - Harmon Killebrew belted 2 doubles and drove in 4 runs today to back Frank Sullivan’s brilliant relief pitching and give the Minnesota Twins a 5-3 victory over the Boston Red Sox. Killebrew’s second double came in the sixth inning with 2 out and sent home 3 runs to overcome a 3-2 Boston lead. Sullivan, making his first appearance in a Minnesota uniform after many successful seasons with Boston, protected the Twins’ lead by retiring 9 men in a row over the last 3 innings. The Red Sox took a 3-0 lead when Jim Pagliaroni hit a 3-run homer in the second inning.
