Apr. 6, 1962 - William F. Buckley Jr., editor of the conservative magazine National Review, called former Maj. Gen. Edwin A. Walker “politically ignorant” today. Yesterday, Mr. Walker challenged the loyalty of Secretary of State Dean Rusk, linking Mr. Rusk to a “hidden control apparatus” that he contended was dictating a “no-win” policy toward the world Communist conspiracy. Mr. Buckley expressed sympathy for some of Mr. Walker’s Right-wing views. But he said the former general’s “performance” yesterday before a Senate subcommittee had “tended to submerge” the issue of alleged “muzzling” of anti-Communist officers.
