Aug. 27, 1962 - The Yankees, who have been teasing the other American League teams lately with false hope, ended a 6-game losing streak today by drubbing the Indians, 5-0. Ralph Terry, hurling brilliantly, gave only 3 hits and struck out 9 as he registered his 19th victory of the season in 29 decisions. It was the lanky right-hander’s third shutout of the season. The victory lifted the league-leading Bombers to a three-and-a-half game margin over the Los Angeles Angels. It also snapped the Yanks’ longest losing streak since they lost 6 in a row in 1958.#MLB #baseball #OTD #1960s #yankees #guardians
